CoolingSpots shows for free and without an account where it is cool and shady on hot days. Municipalities, cities, cantons, regions and states may freely use the map as part of their heat protection for the public - via a QR code on notices and flyers or as an embedded map on their own website.
A good heat-protection strategy means showing people where to spend hot days well - not only for shelter, but also for a shady outing in nature, a change of scene, or to escape an overheated flat for a few hours. This helps especially older people, young children and the chronically ill; some cities already maintain their own maps.
